Skateboard decks are the main part of the skateboard. Decks come in different sizes and are chosen according to the level of rigor and the extremity of the stunts to be performed. Decks vary in size, but most range from seven to ten inches wide, by 28 to 33 inches long. Decks were originally a single piece of wood but are now usually made from seven to nine plies of Canadian Hard Rock Maple glued together. Decks usually have “grip tape” on the top of them.
